Langley Virtual Village: Some Creative Thinking to Boost Business in the time of a pandemic

by Carolyn Tamler 27th April 2020

Inge Morascini, the Executive Director of the Langley Chamber of Commerce came up with an idea to continue to stimulate business in the Langley Community during this strange time when retail businesses are required to be shuttered.

She worked with the local retailers, restauranteurs and service providers to create a new way to have them stay in touch with their customers. The Langley Virtual Village, which can be visited at https://www.altogetherlangley.com/, allows visitors to check out all of the stores in Langley and shop with them directly online.

Many of these businesses are offering pick-up, delivery and mail order service.

The businesses are also looking for support from people who will purchase gift certificates that can be used for on-line service now, or in person at a later date.

Gift Certificates, for shops, services and restaurants, come with a special reward. Gift certificates are available now, and if the buyer waits for 45 days to use them, they will get a 20% bonus for any of their purchases. Or, you can use a gift certificate today and make a purchase in one of the online store or directly with the business.

Local stores are being added daily, so the Virtual Village invites people to keep checking the website frequently.

If you have a business or service and want it to be on the Virtual Village, just fill in the application today...it's absolutely free.https://visitlangley.com/langley-virtual-village-business-sign-up/

And, if you are a local resident, keep checking the Virtual Village website frequently to see new additions to the list.
