Bob Craven’s family has been in the insurance business since the 1950’s.  Kathy has been a member of the Craven Insurance team since 1993 when she accepted an offer to sell yacht insurance from Craven’s Seattle office.  Four years later, she accepted an offer of marriage from Bob Craven.

When Bob and Kathy Craven moved to Whidbey Island in 2003, they continued to work from their office in Lake Stevens. They agreed that opening a branch office on Whidbey was a good move for them personally, as well as good for business, so they opened the branch office in Clinton.  This allowed them to be rid of the daily commute, allowing time to get involved with the community. Nothing promotes a new business, like getting to know your community. Their long-term activity with Clinton Chamber of Commerce, and the Clinton Hall has established Craven Insurance for their home, auto and boat owner-clients, as well as many businesses.

One of the qualities of Craven Insurance that is especially appreciated by their customers is the ability to speak directly with their insurance agent whenever there is a question or concern that needs to be addressed. Kathy notes: “Owning an independent agency allows us to have a personal relationship with clients, providing the advocacy needed at the time of loss and periodic reviews of their existing insurance coverage and rates.”

Bob Craven adds, “As the owners of a small business, we have always bought into Whidbey’s BUY LOCAL” mission, never more needed or appreciated than during the last 2 years of the pandemic crisis.  We have witnessed our community pull together to meet such modern day challenges with enormous pride.

Kathy Craven also notes that she has seen a major shift in the attitudes toward women in business in the once male-dominated world of business over the last five decades: “In the last 50 years I have seen change, especially in leadership and ownership of businesses. Women are no longer just support staff.”

If you want to review your current insurance needs, or simply want to find out more about what types of insurance are needed to protect you and your property and possessions should some unforeseen problem occur, give Kathy or Bob a call at their Clinton Office: 360-341-7201.You can also check out their website at www.craveninsurance.com
