The Bayview Farmers Market: Bringing local farmers and the community together

by Carolyn Tamler 23rd May 2022

The Bayview Market has been at the Bayview corner for 24 years. It’s a great place to wander and shop for fruits, vegetables and art items that are offered by local farmers and artisans.

The Bayview Market is open every Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. from now through October 16.  Currently being offered:  produce, meats, cheese, flowers, jam, pies, ice cream, mead, and several types of jewelry, clothing and artistic items.  Everything is sold by local farmers and merchants.

The market accepts WIC and senior nutrition coupons, as well as SNAP (which the market will match dollar for collar up to $40).

Sharon Warwick has been the manager of the market for 14 years. She was a Board member before assuming her management role.

The farmers market is essential part of our local food economy, builds community and helps reduce our carbon footprint.

Sharon notes that there are now more than 50 local vendors; some 15 local farms are represented, as well as vendors from other food and artisan sources.
