Sylvie Kaul-Anderson, owner of Light Heart Healing Arts in Freeland, enjoys helping people heal themselves

by Carolyn Tamler 22nd August 2022

“People naturally heal themselves, but I create an environment that helps this to happen.” Sylvie Kaul-Anderson practices massage in Freeland and she says she has learned through her practice that most often people have the ability to heal themselves. Her office – Light Heart Healing Arts – offers comfort, pain relief and relaxation.

Sylvie has lived most of her life on Whidbey Island. She was born in Greenbank, but went away to Bellingham to attend college, and devoted considerable time exploring wilderness areas. She visited Joshua Tree Monument and Sequoia National Park where she taught children about back packing in the woods.

She moved away from Whidbey from 2018 – 2019 to Pennsylvania to attend massage school. Sylvie notes, “I always knew I wanted to do healing work.” She is now a Licensed Massage Therapist after completing training in the “Integrated Body Work School of Massage.”

After being away for a few years, Sylvie felt drawn back to both the environment and the community on Whidbey Island. On the island she has expanded her interest in long distance running and free diving (at the Keystone Ferry and at Deception Pass).

She believes that she is constantly learning from her experiences as a massage therapist. “My massage practice has taught me how much we have the ability to heal ourselves.”

Sylvie notes “I am fascinated by the human body. I truly enjoy helping people heal themselves.” She adds that massage therapy offers people comfort, pain relief and relaxation.

Sylvie is pleased to be offering her massage services on Whidbey Island where she grew up and where she appreciates the natural environment and the feeling of community that surrounds her here. She adds, “After being away for a few years, the community of Whidbey Island drew me back. I also love living near the ocean.” She adds, “A lot of people on Whidbey know me.”

Sylvie offers 60-minute and 90-minute massages, and she spends time talking with her clients to have a better understanding of what they need and want from her services.
