Artworks Gallery Celebrates Reopening at Langley's First Saturday Art Walk in July.

by Gaylen Whiteman 24th June 2024

Artworks Gallery found a new home in the courtyard off Second Street in Langley's Creative Arts District in 2020, during the height of the COVID pandemic. This move came after the gallery spent over ten years at Greenbank Farm. Unfortunately, the gallery and other building tenants faced a challenge in January when Whidbey's winter weather caused a burst pipe, leading to a four-month closure.

Finally, after months of waiting, the gallery will reopen on June 19th. There will be a reopening celebration on July 6th during Langley's First Saturday Art Walk. “During the closure, gallery artists have poured their hearts and souls into producing new and inspiring art pieces,” said Artworks President Christine Crowell.

During the July 6th celebration, there will be artist demonstrations, cake from 11am to 5pm, and wine and refreshments from 5pm to 7pm. Additionally, there will be a free drawing for three handwoven gift baskets filled with art worth over $300. To participate, you can fill out a free entry form in the gallery starting June 19th. The gift basket drawing will take place during the celebration on the First Saturday Art Walk on July 6th from 5 pm to 7 pm.

Mark your calendars for the grand reopening event on the first Saturday in July!
