Experience the Magic: Whidbey Ren Faire Returns for Its Second Enchanting Year!

by Phoenix Da Casta 20th February 2025

As the faire season begins to stir with excitement, one beloved event on our beautiful island is preparing to ramp up once again. Whidbey Ren Faire is back for its second annual celebration, promising more magic, adventure, and merriment than ever before. Last year’s inaugural event drew an impressive crowd of over 7,500 patrons from across the country—and even welcomed a surprise appearance from an international hip-hop sensation! Now, Whidbey Ren Faire is ready to weave its enchantment once more.

A Renaissance of Wonder

Bringing a blend of history, fantasy, and education to the community, the first-ever Whidbey Ren Faire debuted in May 2024. The event, held over Memorial Day weekend, captivated attendees of all ages with its immersive medieval/fantasy atmosphere, lively entertainment, and vibrant artisan marketplace. Beyond just a gathering of revelry, the faire also bolstered local tourism and commerce, enriching the island’s economy.

This year, the excitement only grows! Whidbey Ren Faire 2025 is set to take place on May 24th and 25th at a brand-new location: Beach View Farm in Oak Harbor. Spanning over 15 acres, this expansive new venue allows for more vendors, performers, guilds, and ample space for parking and camping—ensuring a grander experience for all.

A Historic Home for a Legendary Faire

Beach View Farm, owned by the esteemed Fakkema family, has deep roots on Whidbey Island. Originally a crop farm, it was transformed into a dairy farm by Ryan and Jane Fakkema, who immigrated from Holland in 1950. Now managed by Dick and Hap Fakkema, the farm is honored to host the Whidbey Ren Faire, providing a historic and scenic backdrop for an event that continues to flourish.

With over 100 vendors, 12 guilds, and nearly 30 performers already signed on, this year’s faire is shaping up to be a truly unforgettable experience. But with such exciting growth comes the need for more hands to help bring this grand vision to life. That’s where you come in!
