The Port of South Whidbey and Whidbey Island Fairgrounds and Event Center are thrilled to announce the reopening of their campground after a six-week construction period. The campground is set to welcome visitors back starting Monday, April 14th.

One of the most significant changes is the introduction of an online reservation and payment system through the website ‘Roverpass’. Campers can now easily select and reserve their sites, similar to how one would book a vacation rental through platforms like Airbnb. This advancement aims to streamline the booking process and enhance the overall camping experience. Please note that we will no longer accept cash at the campground registration kiosk. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

In addition to the new reservation system, the campground is excited to welcome Mark and Andrea as the new campground hosts. They will reside on-site to assist guests and maintain the grounds. With their extensive experience as campground hosts, Mark and Andrea look forward to meeting guests and sharing stories around the campsite.

The campground now features seven premium sites situated along the front of the grounds, offering stunning views of the horse arena and Saratoga Passage. These premium campsites come equipped with 50amp, 30amp, and 20amp electrical receptacles, as well as frost-free water hydrants. Additionally, 13 more campsites will provide 30amp and 20amp options along with water hookups. For those who prefer tent camping, a designated area without electrical hookups will still provide access to drinking water. Pricing for the premium sites has increased to $45 per night, while all other sites will be available for $35 per night. Stays are limited to 14 days, and a dump station is accessible to the public for $5 per use.

In conjunction with the reopening, Port and Fairgrounds staff will focus on landscaping and seeding the newly leveled ground. Emphasizing the use of native plants and water-loving species will not only beautify the area and help improve drainage but also support pollinators, benefiting the overall ecosystem. Campers are encouraged to tread lightly while new plants take root.

Stay tuned for further announcements regarding the official plans for a grand opening event this summer.
