The Indians of the Pacific Northwest are famous for their dugout canoes, some up to 60 feet long. They are made by carving out a single log and shaping them with steam and boiling water. Every year, for 20 years now, Indians come to Coupeville, Washington on Whidbey Island from all over Puget Sound and British Columbia to race.
