A member of the Upper Skagit Tribe, Bowen blends his cultural heritage with a deep connection to the spiritual and natural world, creating art that serves as both a visual and emotional healing experience.

Bowen’s multi-faceted career spans several mediums, including oil painting, sculpture, and glass blowing, while his artistry is also shaped by his background in fine gold jewelry making and poetry. Educated at prestigious institutions such as the Institute of American Indian Arts and the Rhode Island School of Design, Bowen has honed his craft to express the life and movement he observes in the world around him. His works are often described as "medicine," offering healing and unity to those who engage with them.

The upcoming show will feature a dynamic collection of his vibrant oil paintings, including key pieces from his *Canoe Journey* series. Each piece reflects Bowen’s unique ability to channel both the ancestral spirits of the Skagit Valley and the contemporary human experience, culminating in art that speaks across time and cultures.

Bowen has spent much of his life working to increase the understanding between cultures and is often assisting in “bridging the gap” in understanding.
