This month's featured artist, Jill Lipoti, is a potter who teaches and works at the Whidbey Clay Center. This piece is called "The Village" and features broad brush strokes of oxides, and small dots of glaze. The scene which Jill is envisioning is view of a small village of huts in Madagascar, with fields of crops and paths for the zebu herders to traverse. Jill, and fellow WAG potter, Christi Shaffer, made the long journey to Madagascar last year and are forever changed by the natural beauty of the island nation.
