About this Event

Antarctica is host to an abundance of life under the sea as well as on the land, but few are able to experience its magnificence in person due to its remote location and challenging environment. In this program, you will learn about the icebergs, birds, mammals and fish found in the Antarctic from Zachary Sawhill, Oak Harbor High School science teacher, who has recently returned from exploring Antarctica as a Grosvenor Teacher Fellow with National Geographic and Lindblad Expeditions. Zac will be sharing photographs and videos he shot while on his expedition. He will also speak about the Antarctic Treaty and important conservation efforts to protect this fragile environment.

The Grosvenor Teacher Fellowship is a professional learning opportunity for pre K-12 educators made possible through a partnership between National Geographic and Lindblad Expeditions.
