The 2nd Annual Dia de Fiesta Hispanic Heritage Festival will be on Saturday, October 5 in downtown Oak Harbor. Will be held at SE Pioneer Way

There’ll be a DJ, Vendors, Food, Mariachi and this year we’re adding Latin Dance Lessons, Piñatas for the kids and Shannon Patiño!Vendor application period is open.
Vendors must be selling Hispanic products or food.

Fun for all ages from a small indoor haunted house, trick or treat the tables, picture opportunities with all the fun characters walking around. FREE door raffle and sooo much more.

We have “LAVA LOUIES” pizza coming and live entertainment by the witches of Skagit!! Dance performance at 2pm!

Come dressed in your best costumes and ready for a night full of fun!There will be a Trunk or Treat, Carnival Games, music, Fitness Tricks and Feats for Treat, Activities, and more!

The fun takes place 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., so don't miss out!

Want to join the competition? Prizes awarded to the top three trunks! Attendees will vote on their favorite trunk at the end of the row. Register to host a Trunk at MyFFR #992401-02 or call the Convergence Zone at 360-257-2432 to sign up for your trunk!

Octoberfest and Fall Plant Sale

Grab your Lederhosen and Dirndls! Octoberfest at Meerkerk Gardens is fast approaching.The festival happens from 12 p.m..-4 p.m. on Saturday, October 5 just as the gardens start flashing fabulous fall color. Enjoy the sights, sounds and tastes of Bavaria.

Adult admission to Octoberfest is $15 – payable at the Meerkerk gatehouse entry by cash, check, credit card or pay in advance at www.meerkerkgardens.com/events). Kids under 13 are free. Parking is limited so please carpool, take the bus, ride a bike, or walk, if possible.Two local musical groups will perform for your enjoyment:Nathaniel Talbot Trio will take the stage at 12 p.m. and play an hour and a half-set centering on American roots music that combines the soulful edge of tradition with the Pacific Northwest’s legacy of freedom and innovation.Pickled Herring Band will take the stage at 2 p.m. and will perform all their favorites with accordion player Lori Hansen.Get your tickets here: https://square.link/u/oBipwonUWe will have traditional German food from the Chef in the Black Bandana and have beer from Georgetown Brewing in our Beer Garden.Rhododendrons also will be a big part of this festive event. Choose from hundreds of plants on display just in time for the fall planting season.Meerkerk Gardens, a 53-acre woodland wonder on central Whidbey Island, is open from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. every day of the year. Enjoy 2-plus miles of trails, stunning vistas and a renowned collection of rhododendrons, azaleas and specimen trees. Dogs on a leash are welcome. Bring a lawn chair!

Oktoberfest Celebration at Greenbank Farm with

Join Whidbey's Saratoga Orchestra on October 19 from 11am-4pm for the first annual Oktoberfest celebration transforming the Greenbank barn into a lively and rollicking beer hall complete with traditional music, food and drink. Headlining the musical entertainment are THE OOMPAH-STERS, Saratoga Orchestra’s own German Band performing traditional Volksmusikpolkas, marches and more with special musical guests, the Puget Sound Alphorn Society performing throughout the day.

 

You are invited to dress in your finest Dirndls and Lederhosen for this family friendly event. Local handcrafted brews will be available for purchase along with brats and hot dogs from Coupe's Last Stand Bratwagon and traditional pastries from Seattle’s Kaffeeklatsch German Bakery. Enter the Saratoga Sausage Toss, Hammerschlagen (Nail Hitting) and Masskrugstemmen (Stein Lifting) for a chance to win prizes. A special family friendly area will include games and art activities. Proceeds benefit Saratoga Orchestra’s Education and Enrichment programs.  Tickets are $20 online presale and $25 purchased at the door and 18 and under are free. Sunday, October 6, 2024 at 2:00 p.m.This wonderful celebration is for all beloved animals with whom we share our lives. If you are unable to bring your pet (not all animals like to travel or be around others), bring a photo for the blessing. Blessings will take place near the bell tower. There is plenty of parking. The more the merrier.Those who bring pet ashes to spread will gather at the Pet Spreading Garden at 2:45pm.We will be accepting donations of dog or cat food to support the work of WAIF and OASIS on Whidbey.

All animals and humans are welcome to come to this annual celebration!
