After 24 years as a nurse, Amanda Williams found herself feeling burned out with nursing and wanted to find some way to have a useful occupation and enjoy her family and her life on Whidbey Island. She was born on Whidbey (6th generation here) but left the island to work and live in Hawaii and other places, including Whidbey, but eventually returned to the northwest and earned a degree in Nursing. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Washington in 2007.
In 2006, she and her husband, Andrew, built a house in Clinton. Her husband is a police officer in Everett. They have two daughters, who are 13 and 16, and they are happy to be raising their children on Whidbey.
In 2020, she decided that nursing was just too stressful for her, so she returned to college and earned her Masters Degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She enjoyed her new career path but says, “I always wanted to be my own boss.” She knew that having her own business would be a “very big commitment,” but she had a strong desire to find something she could do on Whidbey so she wouldn’t have to commute to a job off-island, and she wanted to have more time to spend with her family.
Her goal materialized in October of 2022 when she started W Medi-Spa. She says that her business is something she loves doing: “aesthetic nursing” with non-surgical, cosmetic procedures. The purpose of her business is to help women improve their skin tone and looks without any surgery. She notes that what she does is help her women clients maintain a more youthful appearance.
She offers Botox, fillers, micro-needling and vitamin IV infusions and injections which she says “help promote beauty from the inside out.”
She adds, “There is no service like this on the south end of Whidbey Island.”
W Medi-Spa is located in a building owned by her sister, Katie Grindon, who owns KG Realty, located at 6415 S Central Avenue in Clinton.
