The Island Vipers team was formed last season by Coaches Grant VanDyke, Aaron Lucero and Mason Strevel. Offering an Island-wide Whidbey team, the interest has grown and now consists of two teams. The older group consists of girls who are 14 to 16 years of age (and who can be on the team till they graduate from high school) and a younger group of 12- to 14-year-olds.
Vipers’ tryouts was a great success for the new season and were held in July.
“The Island Vipers brings together community, family and the youth on the island to create memories while building strong team building skills in a positive setting.” “The kids are all good friends and enjoy their time together.”

- Encouraging personal best over competition;
- Celebrating and instilling a passion for sport; and

The Vipers have acquired the championship title twice in tournaments for their bracket and made second place this last season.
“We believe all children are unique and must have support where they can have fun, grow and meet their full potential in a supportive environment.”
We are grateful for all the parent helpers and new coaches coming into the new season that have made it possible for our community to come together and give these girls the opportunity of the sport while creating lasting relationships and memories. We are always grateful to our sponsors who have helped us achieve our goals and will continue to do fundraising in the new season.
